DeFalco Design’s child photography sessions happen to be a real favorite around here. Photographing children brings about a sense of adventure that is hard not love. Children are unpredictable and bring with them a sense of wonder that is captivating, which Katharine loves to capture.
Allowing your children to feel free to have fun and enjoy a ‘photography adventure’ with the camera will bring their most playful side out and make for the perfect photos. Katharine’s own daughter has held the role as ‘muse’ for quite some time now, allowing for Katharine to determine the best strategy for photography young children. We take a documentary style approach to these sessions, capturing your child as they live, play, and discover.
When selecting the location, it’s a good idea to choose something they will enjoy and that will translate in your photos. If they do not enjoy the beach, then let’s not go there!
Worried about your children smiling for the camera? Leave the smiling up to Katharine. She’s been known to tote along a bag full of toys and props to naturally bring the smiles out of your children, keeping them entertained between shots and comfortable in front of the camera. Try not to put pressure on your children to behave or say words like “cheese”! Leave the smiling up to Katharine and get ready to make some memories together!
A few helpful tips before your child’s photo session: Bring snacks and water for your kids. A change of clothes is a good idea if we’re shooting at the beach. Have bug spray and sunscreen on hand for those hot Florida days.
